Growing up we all had the “don’t forget to take a little honey” talk by our mothers, right girls? We know how great honey is, it’s the BOMB! So today we here at Slayy, are going to share with you some pretty insightful things you probably didn’t (or did) know about the use of Honey.
1. The Sunburn Life Saviour
It’s without doubt that we all love the beach, but our love for sunburns…not the biggest for sure! Instead of reaching to your bottle of aloe vera gel the next time you get a bad sunburn, get a handful of honey and gently rub it over your sunburns – the honey helps soothe the burning while the chances of your skin peeling can decrease, this not only means you get to keep your sun tan, but your skin will be softer than ever!
2. Bid Your Dark Circles Goodbye
Tried everything to get rid of your dark circles, to the point of giving up and thinking the only thing you can do is layer up on concealer? Well, we’ve got a little trick for you ladies, apply a layer of honey under your eyes and leave it on for 20 minutes. Do this twice to three times a week, until you’re satisfied with the results. Do keep in mind that this depends on how severe the darkness is, but don’t give up girlies. Patience is key.
3. Get younger looking skin
Did you know honey is used in many organic anti-aging products? Its ability to aid in retaining moisture and elasticity of skin, makes it a go-to product loved by many. Here’s an easy DIY recipe you can make to help tighten your pores and leave your skin looking younger and radiant.
1 tablespoon of honey
2 tablespoon of sugar (preferably brown)
2 drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
Apply the mixture gently on your face, leave it on for 8-10 minutes before completely washing it off.
4. Stay Away Razor-Bumps!
We all love that wonderful after-shave feeling, but nothing could be more irritating than getting razor-bumps all over your legs when you’re just about to step out of the house in that sexy skirt! The next time you shave your legs, be sure to immediately spread on a layer of honey, leave it on for 10 minutes before rinsing it off, allowing your skin to absorb all that goodness – you’ll not only be left with bump-free legs but also glowing skin!
